British musicologist Frances Ferris (Joan Greenwood) and her late niece Nikky Ferris (Hayley Mills) travel through Crete and record Greek folk songs for the BBC. In the normally quiet coastal town of Aghios Georgios you will find a room called "The Moon-Spinners" in the inn, although the people in the inn are preparing for the wedding and none other than Alexis (Michael Davis), the young teenage son of the owner Sophia (Irene Papas)), who likes to throw away popular Americanisms in his slightly broken English, seems to want them there. Frances and Nikky learn from Alexis that this uncomfortable feeling is caused by his uncle Stratos (Eli Wallach), who has become a suspect since his last return from London after fifteen years away. Every year, at least a dozen of Family movies are created, most of them are usually ordinary. Most movies, even the greatest ones, evaporate like mist once you've returned to the real world; they leave memories behind, but their reality fades free quickly. But not with this one :). I will tell you something. I ended up watching it four times whole movie online in the web, almost without breaks. However, this genre may boast of one of the larger number of popular titles. I really like film music, this movie's pure strip. Fucking loved this movie! Such a mix of emotions. The Moon-Spinners is one of the best possible choice for a saturday evening with cinema....
